Legislation was passed during the 2024 Florida Legislative Session establishing background screening requirements for health care professions regulated by the Florida Department of Health's Division of Medical Quality Assurance. This applies to all licensed healthcare practitioners and not just dentists. Note, it also applies to dental hygienists.
You must complete the process by your licensure renewal, February 28, 2026.
Please note that this is not something you can do at the last minute. The Florida Dental Association (FDA) suggests completing the process at least 14 days before the end of the biennium.
The process must be done every 5 years; dentists must complete it every other biennium.

Nov 20th and Jan 15th meetings from 5:00 – 6:45pm at the Hilton (5111 Tamiami Trail N. Naples, FL 34103). Appointment required.
Cost is $120 per person – all major payments accepted

Request your Transaction Control Number (TCN) from the Livescan provider before leaving your appointment. You must input this number when you are renewing your license.
